Meet Dr. Karen Sears
Karen (she/her/hers) is interested in the developmental mechanisms driving morphologic diversification in mammals, and in using non-model mammals as “natural mutants” to investigate questions of import to human health.

Our goals include supporting the development of scientific exploration in diverse regions of the world. We work toward this goal through our fieldwork in countries spanning the globe, during which we work side by side with in-country scientists. We also sponsor undergraduates from Puerto Rico with research internships in our lab every summer, and travel extensively to give public and scientific seminars and workshops on our research.
We are a passionate group of people from a diversity of countries and scientific backgrounds, who have come together to advance knowledge about mammalian evolution and development.
We are always looking for new lab members, so please reach out to connect!
